Order and Chaos

Work created by 1st year Digital Arts & New Media students in their Introduction to Visual Creation: Drawing course.

With a non-standard paper format of 2:1, ELEMENTS AND PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN are applied in the making of a successful composition. The overall surface is developed in a dynamic way, filling the pictorial space with positive-negative areas: solid versus empty areas, to establish unity and balance.

Sections of the composition’s value are possibly reversed to create mirror effect and achieve interesting graphic rhythm.

The creative solution in finding a transition between varieties of contents shows the student’s ability to create harmonious graphic transitions.
