Leucan Shaved Head Challenge

The Leucan Shaved Head Challenge is a major fundraiser of Leucan that engages the community in a spirit of solidarity to provide services to cancer-stricken children and their families as well as providing financial support to the clinical research.

On Wednesday, April 25th Champlain students participated in the Head Shaved Challenge by shaving their head or donating a minimum of 8 inches to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Projects. The students raised an incredible amount of $ 1165.

At the event, guest speaker France Orichefsky, an inspiring woman who battled colon cancer shared her experience with the Champlain Community. After going through several chemotherapy treatments and surgeries, she finally won the fight. Her love of life and optimistic personality is what makes her a role model to all her high school students. She is a Science teacher at the College Jean de la Mennais in La Prairie. France is outgoing and definitely kindhearted. She even spontaneously decided to shave her head on Wednesday to support the cause. This shows you what type of person she truly is.
