“The 2007 Cavaliers Men’s Soccer team was the first team to have captured a CCAA National Championship Gold medal for Champlain College Saint-Lambert and the first Gold medal that Québec has won with the CCAA in Men’s Soccer.”
This edition of the Cavaliers Men’s Soccer team is the only team to have captured a National Championship Gold medal for the college, and to this day is the only Gold medal that Quebec has won at the National level in Men’s Soccer.
After taking the silver at the Nationals in 2006, the Cavaliers came back in 2007 and had a 5-3 season. They won the provincials and moved on to the CCAA Nationals in Halifax.
After winning their first two games, the Cavaliers went up against Algonquin College, but the game was stopped after 45 minutes due to snow. The following week, on a “neutral” site in Ontario, the Cavaliers came out strong and won the game in penalty kicks after tying the match up in extra time.
