Starting in the Fall 2012 semester, Champlain will offer a new pre-university program in Computer Science
and Mathematics. The program is aimed at students who are interested in pursuing their university studies
in the ever growing fields of engineering, computer science, mathematics and sciences. In combining
technical and scientific approaches, the 2-year program is structured around the subjects of physics,
mathematics, chemistry and computer science with an important focus on necessary problem solving and
logic skills; much sought after competencies in the world of science. This program is a great start to your
future studies and career in the sciences.
IN THIS PROGRAM, YOU WILL LEARN TO:
Interpret and evaluate solutions and theories;
Take a systematic approach to problem solving;
Use information and communications technologies to solve problems in a scientific context;
Conduct research and carry out projects pertaining to situations, problems or issues by drawing on
several fields of knowledge;
Learn to work individually and as part of a team;
Develop personal abilities in analysis and reasoning;
Conduct a comprehensive assessment in the area of computer science and mathematics.
MINIMUM ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
In order to be admitted to a program leading to a Diploma of College Studies
(DEC), candidates must possess a Quebec Secondary School Diploma or
have completed a level of education that is deemed equivalent by the College. Applicants
must also have successfully completed Mathematics TS 5 or SN 5, Secondary 5
Chemistry and Secondary 5 Physics.
Even if candidates to programs meet the requirements of the Règlement sur le regime
des études collégiales, they may be refused admission because of the lack of spaces.
March 1st for the Fall Semester.
November 1st for the Winter Semester.
