New Inductees to Cavaliers Hall of Fame

Last night saw the Champlain Cavaliers hold their annual Athletics Banquet in Longueuil at the Sandman Hotel. In addition to celebrating the past season and the accomplishments of their student-athletes, it was a very special night as the evening began with the induction of three Cavalier alumni and one team into the Champlain Cavaliers Sports Hall of Fame.

“These are the first three student-athletes who are being inducted into the Hall and it speaks volumes about not only how they were as athletes, but also how they are as people,” said Dean Howie, who was then the Athletic Coordinator and is now the Coordinator of Student Services.

The 2012 inductees were:

Sharon Sandy (Class of 1989) – Women’s Basketball

As a determined and dedicated student-athlete with a tremendous work ethic, Sharon contributed to the success of the Women’s Basketball team, helping them win a Regional Championship in 1988 and being named team M.V.P. for the 1988-89 season. (Full Bio)
